| 11 Nov 2004 | Susanne Mesai Ihrén | hey, what an... uh scary guy. no, not that scary, more very cool. he's got a thoughtful expression on his face, it is hard to say what he truly feels somehow. oh, nice colouring! a very cool background!! have a nice day/S Mitchell Raymond replies: "bwe he he he thanx for your ever glowing comments" | |
| 14 Nov 2004 | SHimmEr | He is probably related to Kekrops, the halfman-half snake king of ancient Athens. I'm sure that Kekrops and the Gorgons were distant relatives... Can't remember any more details though... Mitchell Raymond replies: "weren't they the NAGA or something..." | |
| 15 Nov 2004 | SHimmEr | Dunno really... I've never heard of the Nagas, but I do know the myth of Kekrops...He was a really wise and noble king that ruled Athens before it was named Athens, etc, etc. I believe he was the only half snake/half man in Gk mythology, perhaps the nagas are from other mythologies... Mitchell Raymond replies: "possably, but you should really look them up as they are really cool!!!" | |
| 27 Nov 2004 | Shannon Poehlman | Wow amazing colors! I love how he looks snake like! and his hair is soooo fun looking!! i want little snake in my hair!! Can anyone get me a link to a snake man myth site? I like drawing the nagas and half snake men and various other things with tails that are usually male and half nude but sadly i have no idea where to look. I have a dungeons and dragons book though and that does kinda help (no..I don't play the game...Its used strictly for drawing reference) but not nearly enough. oh yeah! ::yanks tail and snake guy falls over and out window thing...drags him away:: hes mine too! Mitchell Raymond replies: "NNNNnnnnOoooOooo he is MINE!!!! and if you look round elfwood you can find quite a few...i always find them harder to draw than normal people.." | |
| 24 Dec 2004 | Steven P. Love | Although there are no male gorgons in classic Greek myth that I'm aware of the concept of one is interesting. Maybe you could write a story based on this idea. Maybe you could say that this gorgon man was Medusa's only son before Perseus beheaded her. Mitchell Raymond replies: "I was thinking that he could be one of medusa's sisters sons...I am sure that i wrote this down somewhere...oh well all ideas are welcome along with interpritations" | |
| 7 Jan 2005 | E. son | Ha ha. He looks like he's thumbing his nose at us. love the tiny details, like the scales. And the snake pattern is cool to. Most people would just leave the snake bits a solid color, it's good to see variety. The stained glass window thingie in the background is really cool to. Mitchell Raymond replies: "thanx again for the fantasticly glowwing comment, bwe he he he he he he he" | |
